How do I adjust the Fission Nano Skimmer to get the foam quality I want?

The Fission Nano Skimmer has an adjustment on the pump that regulates the amount of air and water injected into the skimmer.  Adjusting this will effect the type of foam that is collected.  You can also adjust the foam quality by raising or lowering the entire Fission Nano Skimmer inside the aquarium.

Microbubbles are escaping from the Fission Nano skimmer-am I doing something wrong?

On a new tank or a tank that previously didn't have a protein skimmer on it, microbubbles can escape from the protein skimmer.  This may also happen after certain additives are used in the aquarium.  Please check out the troubleshooting section of the Fission skimmers for information on why microbubbles are escaping from the protein skimmer.

My Fission Nano Skimmer is not producing any foam. What is the problem?

There can be many reasons why foam will not collect inside the skimmer. The protein skimmer pump is not injecting air or water into the protein skimmer, the salinity of the tank is too low, the biological load may not be enough to generate waste, or the water level is not high enough for foam to collect into the collection cup.  Foam can also be reduced by oily foods or when placing your hands in the aquarium.

The foam is very clear and wet. How do I get the foam to be more dry?

The skimmer does have a break-in period, the skimmer needs to take out the wet/clear foam to be able to produce a drier foam.  Let the skimmer run for a couple of weeks with out adjusting the skimmer and only cleaning out the collection cup when needed.
